First and foremost, I would like to thank Dr. Hyoung-Joo Kim for organizing critical clinical information and invaluable tips on thread lifting and botulinum toxin injection procedures. I also wish to thank Dr. Jung-Hyun Yoon for his insightful thread-lifting techniques that allowed for new, creative clinical procedure information featured in this book. Lastly, I send infinite thanks to Prof. Kwan-Hyun Youn for providing all of the visual artistry for this book. I believe that Prof. Youn has raised the field of medical illustration to a world class level. Many thanks to the effort of the MedArt team, Ms.  Hyewon Hu and Mr. Hyeong-Seok Choi led by Prof. Youn to create such clear, simple, and creative visual contents. I would like to express my gratitude to In-young, Heo for her enthusiasm on the initial planning and final editing of this book.

Nowadays, there has been a fundamental shift in the relationship between our understanding of anatomy and application of clinical procedures, where all clinical procedures certainly presupposes clinical anatomy. Previously, anatomy has been an essential discipline for learning the basics of medicine and dentistry, and current anatomy has been transformed into a discipline that is fundamental to clinical procedures. The foundation for success clinical outcomes are based on the understanding of complex anatomical relationships, normal variations, and misunderstanding how side effects can be encountered and avoided.

This book has been written with the basis in the anatomical illustrations with focus in clinical techniques and procedures of thread lifting and botulinum toxin injection.  For the utmost clearest comprehension, the structures of the face and neck by each

individual layer is demonstrated. Each figure is meticulously labeled with the thread insertion and botulinum toxin injection points for easy cross-reference with other resources. Furthermore, the injection depth data based on our anatomy publications and clinical experiences are provided in each illustration, and multiple layered illustrations of the face and upper neck are prsented for in-depth anatomica knowledge

The chapters follow a logical progression through the clinical anatomy of the face and neck, providing clinical information useful for thread lifting and botulinum toxin injection procedures becoming an extremely valuable resource for aesthetic physicians. This book consists of 4 chapters with anatomical illustrations merging the basic and clinical sciences. The basics of the face and neck anatomy are explained in chapters 1 and 2 and detailed descriptions and demonstrations of the clinical procedures for each clinical indication, based on the clinical anatomy of the face and neck, are explained in chapters 3 and 4.

The authors hope that this book will be a useful guidebook for beginners as well as experts performing the aesthetic non-invasive procedures Great anatomy will be forever…
